We are pleased to announce this year’s Dissertation Fellowship Competition. Students who will be Level III by February 2, 2009 and who expect to finish their dissertations next year are eligible to apply. There is one application for all awards, although some awards require extra information from applicants.

Please refer to the “Application Procedures” for detailed instructions, eligibility guidelines and award descriptions. The application form is available in both Word and PDF format and can be accessed through the links in the upper right-hand corner of the page. Word versions of the application and instructions are also attached to this message.
The deadline for receiving completed applications is Monday, February 2, 2009 at 5:00 pm. Late applications will not be accepted. Two letters of reference are required and should also be submitted by February 2.
One fellowship, the Mellon Dissertation Fellowship offered through the Center for the Humanities, is available each year to applicants working on specific themes. This year’s theme will be “Family”. For further information, please see: http://centerforthehumanitiesgc.org/#cat_id=114.
