10-05-01 Second International Conference on 'Networked Digital Technologies' (NDT2010) (2010)
Second International Conference on 'Networked Digital Technologies' (NDT2010) (10)
Date:Aug 4 10 to Aug 6 10 Deadline:May 1 10 Location:London Url: http://www.dirf.org/ndt2010 Keywords:Data and Network mining, Simulation models for social networks,Internet Modeling Description:The proposed conference on the above theme will be held at the London Metropolitan Business School, London Metropolitan University, UK from August 4-6, 2010 which aims to enable researchers build connections between different digital applications. Currently, a number of institutions across the countries are working to evolve better models to provide collaborative technology services for scholarship by creating shared cyberspace thro expert collaboration, but this is a challenge for the institutions for a number of reasons. In the last few years, the landscape of digital technology applications projects for the various disciplines in humanities, social sciences, and sciences appears induced by many initiatives. For the creation of research clusters, the research community has thousands of databases, websites, local computing clusters, and web-based tools around individual themes, interests and projects. In most cases, these tools and resources are and were created to meet the specific needs of a particular community. In many cases, the funding and support for these critical initiatives is fragile and temporary, and directed in piecemeal fashion. There is a need to provide concerted efforts in building federated digital technologies that will enable the formation of network of digital technologies

On April 21, distinguished professors and senior executives from large manufacturing and logistics companies will deliver invited speeches. On April 22, contributions are invited from both researchers and practitioners in the fields of manufacturing, logistics and supply chain management. Papers can be submitted to any of the six conference tracks. Manufacturing and logistics undergo changes incurred by the development and implementation of advanced information technologies. Network-wide cooperation is required in order to take advantage of these shifting paradigms. So far, existing potentials such as intra-company knowledge are not adequately tapped. Corporate networks are strengthened by the application of best practices and by sharing their experience with supply chain partners for achieving integral improvements. Ecological awareness influences existing processes by the application of green principles to logistics and supply chain management.

These systems have emerged as the dominant consumers of residential Internet subscribers' bandwidth, and are being increasingly used in many different application domains. In the last few years, research on P2P systems has been quite intensive, and has produced remarkable results in scalability, robustness, location, distributed storage, and system measurements. Consequently, P2P systems continue to evolve, differentiating today's state-of-the-art from earlier instantiations such as Napster, KaZaA, Gnutella, and Morpheus. The International Workshop on Hot Topics in Peer-to-Peer Systems (Hot-P2P) aims to bring together researchers and practitioners, from both industry and academia, in the fields of systems, networking, and theory, and to represent an occasion to share latest research results and ideas on P2P systems, thereby promoting research activities in this area.

09-10-10 Collaborative Agents -- REsearch and Development (CARE) 2009 (2009)
Collaborative Agents -- REsearch and Development (CARE) 2009 (CARE 2009-09)
Date:Dec 1 09 Deadline:Oct 10 09 Location:Melbourne, Australia Url:http://www.med.monash.edu.au/sphc/care2009.html Keywords:agents, collaboration, complexity, agreements Description:Collaboration is required when multiple agents achieve complex goals that are difficult or impossible to attain for an individual agent. This collaboration takes place under conditions of incomplete information, uncertainty, and bounded rationality, much of which has been previously studied in economics and artificial intelligence. However, many real world domains are characterised by even greater complexity, including the possibility of unreliable and non-complying collaborators, complex market and incentive frameworks, and complex transaction costs and organisational structures. This workshop's thematic focus is on collaborative and autonomous agents that plan, negotiate, coordinate, and act under this complexity. This workshop aims to foster discussions on computational models of collaboration in distributed systems, addressing a range of theoretical and practical issues. We seek contributions of members in research and industry that use the agent paradigm to approach their problems.
09-09-27 Special Issue on Workflow Management in the Grid Era (2009)
Special Issue on Workflow Management in the Grid Era (SI CFP-09)
Date:Sep 27 09 Deadline:Sep 27 09 Location: Url:http://grid.tsinghua.edu.cn/hpcgrid/GCD/english/faculty/jlj/SI(IJSEIA).pdf Keywords:International Journal of Software Engineering and Its Applications Description:With the rapid development of grid computing, workflow technology, once a successful concept in the business domain, has also evolved into the grid domain as an enabling technology for large-scale computations over distributed resources. It is believed that workflow technology can accelerate the pace of scientific progress. Although workflow systems have been demonstrated in a variety of scientific applications as well as in the business domain, the promise of workflow technologies is far from fully realized and there are still many requirements and challenges to be met, for example, dynamic and adaptive workflow, workflow reliability, and workflow reproducibility, to name but just a few. This special issue aims at exhibiting the latest research achievement, findings and ideas in workflow management. Those contributions on workflow management in new (e.g., grid, cloud, pervasive, mobile, service) computing environments are especially welcome.
